How do people express their emotions? How are emotions conceptualized in different historical and cultural areas? How can historical linguistics enable us to understand our feelings, emotions and perceptions? My research integrates methods from diachronic linguistics, sociology, anthropology, cognitive linguistics, and corpus linguistics to explore connections between emotions, language and history.
